“I wish I had known the mindset behind DevOps before I started my research.”

Humans of DevOps

“I wish I had known the mindset behind DevOps before I started my research.”

It would have made the consumption/evaluation of so many technology tools out there related to DevOps a little bit easier to wade through and pick out what we needed and could actually use as opposed to trying to find a use for every current “hot” app/method.

Our greatest challenges are definitely inertia and lethargy. “We’ve always done it this way and we’re still making money” is the phrase I keep running into. It’s gratifying to be able to show them how the numbers could improve if we change how we think and how we use technology.

Changing the corporate culture and getting the company to embrace what DevOps can do is intimidating. We’re making the switch from startup to mature company and everyone (including myself) is used to just solving the problem immediately instead of stepping back and looking at the problem as a whole to identify the root of the issue so that we’re not treating the symptoms.”
